Ashe Memorial Hospital is located in Jefferson NC and serves the communities throughout Ashe County. Established in 1941 this rural mountain hospital serves the county with several surgeons, family practitioners and many specialized physicians with advanced degrees. The level of care at the hospital is outstanding and in the last several years, the hospital has experienced a great deal of growth with several new additions and renovations. In fact, the new Wilma Vannoy Birthing Center was completed in 2005 and features new labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum suites that use the latest in medical equipment and they include all of the comforts of a five star hotel.

In addition to the main hospital, the Mountain Family Care Center is also open in Warrensville. This center serves as an urgent care facility for those in need of care after normal hours; they offer a variety of primary and family care needs, however the Mountain Family Care Center does not offer any emergency services.
