The unincorporated community of Todd straddles both county lines and believe it or not, this tiny little river town was once larger in size than Boone. That’s hard to imagine now, but in the 1890’s Todd was a booming mining and railroad town with several dry goods stores, churches, two doctors, a dentist, a bank, three mills, two hotels, and a post office. The community was once incorporated, back in 1915 and actually had a town council and marshal along with a mayor.
