The Downtown Boone Art Crawl schedule usually begins in early May and runs all the way to autumn in October. On the first Friday of each month, downtown Boone businesses, galleries and restaurants open their doors to patrons browsing for art and mingling in the cocktail hours just after the end of the work day.

An Appalachian Summer Festival

An Appalachian Summer Festival is a summer-long schedule of events that take place on the campus of Appalachian State University. Several world renowned artists, composers and musicians travel to the festival to perform and showcase their talents. Tickets to each event are sold separately.

Music on the MountainTop

For several years now, jam bands and their followers have organized the Music on the Mountain Top festival event, and with each passing year, more and more concert goers show up. The event takes place one day only in late August and showcases some of the best bands in Americana, bluegrass, acoustic, funk and folk music. If you love live music, this event is for you.

Daniel Boone Days

Daniel Boone Days is a weekend event that takes place in early September. Organized by High Country Press, a popular newspaper in the area, Daniel Boone Days is an annual gathering where you can enjoy tons of great live music, delicious food and celebrate the amazing life of Daniel Boone and other frontiersmen that explored the region centuries ago.

High Country Bluegrass Festival

Bluegrass is a huge part of the Appalachian mountain culture that permeates throughout the region. As such, the High Country Bluegrass Festival is a big draw each year. Featuring world renowned bluegrass bands and artists from around the country, this festival is a fun weekend event that takes place in late July.

Boone Christmas Parade

The downtown Boone Christmas Parade takes place every year in early December. The parade annually features live marching bands, ASU athletes, officials from the Town of Boone, tons of great floats decorated by area businesses and organizations and, of course, Santa Claus himself. The streets close for a few hours in the morning to allow for the celebrations to take place.
